Role overview The Research Associate will directly research [ID2] a vast range of FMCG industries through conducting trade interviews with stakeholders, undertaking desk research and engaging in data analysis and market reporting. You will work with our publication schedules and ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner and to our exacting high-quality standards. Full training will be provided. Key responsibilities Each Research Associate has, at any one-time, various project-specific responsibilities as well as wider spheres of responsibility within the unit’s global projects. The role entails directly conducting research and analysis for the finalisation of projects. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects described below:
Secondary research: gathering and scrutinising information from a variety of industry/company sources
Validating market data, including integrity of company and brand information
Staying up to date on industry trends, with special focus on local industry performance, and share knowledge with other Analysts and Research Manager
Primary research (trade interviewing): direct contact with companies and industry experts to enhance quantitative and qualitative information available in the public domain
Developing close contacts across industries to ensure a strong depth and breadth of insight into market performance and trends
Report writing and editing.
Requirements
Market Research track record, proven skills in desk research and trade interviewing
Excellent command of both written and spoken English, [ID5] A degree in business, marketing or another related field
Ability to thrive in the fast-paced and challenging environment of a[ID6] , being responsive and flexible
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High level of numeracy
Ability to interpret, analyse and present statistics in an interesting way
Time management and organisational skills
Tenacity and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
Editorial skills an advantage
Ability to work independently as well as in a team, including cross-office collaboration around the world
